Tracee Ellis Ross could wear her beaming confidence alone to master a youthful glow. But she decides to put time into a beauty routine because it’s fun, and more importantly, because it’s a regular practice of self-care. “My beauty routine is more about how I feel than how it transforms me into some version of myself that I can’t keep up with,” she says in a video she made with Vogue.
Right out of “le shower,” as she calls it in the video, Tracee, 47, spends time tending to her curls (with her new haircare line, Pattern Beauty), her body, and her skin. The craziest part is, there’s not a drop of foundation in sight. “Some people spend time putting on makeup,” she says. “I spend time hydrating my skin.”
Here’s a rundown of her full routine:
Second, creams.
She applies “the teeniest bit” of Yon-Ka eye cream under her eyes, and then reaches for a luxurious white and gold jar of face cream. It’s Biologique’s La Grande Crème, which hydrates, plumps, and firms the skin. The jar is quite tall and narrow, so Tracee uses a “very sterile” spatula to retrieve a good amount. “I like a lot,” she says, before rubbing it between her hands and onto her face.
